As 2009 came to a close, it was clear that quite a few iSeries and System i customers were amping up their system upgrade activity. The fourth quarter is a natural time frame for upgrades, of course, but some customers were also taking advantage of IBM incentives, particularly the successful iLoyalty program that gave up a no-charge IBM i processor license and a 50 percent off IBM i user license discount.

A New York distributor of surgical supplies and equipment was looking to re-evaluate their current system. A change in management made them re-think their Infor solution, which was an old version of A+ running in text mode. Their attendance at an MCS seminar broadened their perspective on the product and made them aware of the modules that would enhance their business.

A major east cost industrial distributor using the Infor A+ software application decided that they needed additional functionality for their growing business. They were running A+ version 6.0 since 2005. To support their expanding business they knew the added features in release 8.1 and purchasing new INFOR A+ modules would be necessary to run their business more efficiently.

A major North Eastern based inspirational gifts and publishing company wanted to broaden their business. In business since 1930, this supplier was looking to capitalize on a larger market and improve customer service. The solution would be through e-commerce. An existing A+ customer since 2005, their decision was to purchase the Infor Storefront module.
